Giuffredi reiterates: “Di Lorenzo’s cycle at Napoli is over. Even if Conte arrives”

Giovanni Di Lorenzo wants to leave the Naples, regardless of the arrival of Antonio Conte, who also indicated him as one of the pillars on which to build his management. His agent spoke again about the future of the Italian captain, on the sidelines of the AEGI trophy Mario Giuffredi: “In recent days he rested and then went to the national team – he reports TuttoNapoli – for the rest, you have read my thoughts from my interviews, but that is not just my thoughts, I am not crazy, before speaking I always discuss with my clients. We do not budge one iota from my previous statements.”

Can Conte’s arrival change your mind?
“It has nothing to do with the tactical or technical aspect or who the new coach will be. These are choices that one makes independently of football. There are many other dynamics and situations where a player reflects and decides what to do. I’m happy for Conte, it was the only right medicine and being coached by him is an honor, but the coach has nothing to do with Di Lorenzo’s decisions. It’s a choice developed over the course of the year.”

Can’t the relationship with De Laurentiis change things?
“My relationships with Napoli are important, based on friendship. It’s true, I often argued, but I later sorted things out. This one with Di Lorenzo is a separate thing, it’s more a desire of the player to have made this choice. Personally I believe that Giovanni’s cycle in Naples is over. The relationships remain good but I work to fulfill the players’ wishes.”
