The English press celebrates Olympiacos: “Historic victory in the Conference League”

A defeat that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for Fiorentina. Vincenzo Italiano’s boys were beaten 1-0 in Athens by Olympiacos in the last act of the Conference League. The match at the OPAP Arena was decided by a goal scored at the end of the second extra half by El Kaabi which put out the Viola’s dreams. The first reactions are starting to arrive from abroad, especially from England where the main newspapers have headlined the match that was played on Greek soil.

From the Guardian to the Mirror
The official website of The Guardian opens his website like this: “Olympiacos triumph after El Kaabi’s header in extra time sinks Fiorentina”. The Mirror instead he dedicates a title playing on the nationality of the red and whites: “No Greek tragedy! Olympiacos wins the Europa Conference League against Fiorentina thanks to a spectacular victory to the joy of the Premier League owner”.
