Euro2024 is now upon us and Luciano Spalletti’s Italy has a tough group made up of Spain, Croatia and Albania. This is the same group as Euro 2012 with the exception of the Albanian national team which also features among its ranks Kristjan Asllani, Nerazzurri midfielder. The Inter player was interviewed by the official channels of the Albanian Football Federation, describing his emotions in view of the group stage: “We will go with a great desire to play the matches. It’s a great emotion every time the Albanian national team calls you. I’m looking forward to it, especially the first match against Italy. I feel very good. It’s been a very good season for the team and for me, as I’ve earned a lot of minutes this year. Now we have the matches and I hope we will as best as possible.”
Asslani spoke in particular about the match against the Azzurri, where he could face his Inter teammates: “We are waiting for the many fans, they also helped us in the qualifiers. They are like one more player on the pitch and this is the main thing. We are waiting for them and I hope they will support us as always. I want to play the match with Italy, I have many friends and then I lived in Italy. This is a special match for me. As I said, I can’t wait to get on the pitch. The Albanian fans are fire and I can’t wait to see them again and be united.”
