Papastathopoulos: “Olympiacos at the perfect moment. The environment will not affect the final”

Sokratis Papastathopoulosformer defender of Milan and Genoa among others who recently said goodbye to playing football, spoke to Sky Sports from Athens, venue this evening of the Conference League final between Fiorentina and Olympiacos: “A match that we are all waiting for, especially me as I am an Olympiacos fan”.

A summary of his career after his retirement in recent days and his last stop at Betis Seville?
“I really liked the last stop at Betis, a team where I had a great time with wonderful people. I’m happy to have had this experience in my career.”

What will the environmental context be like this evening in the AEK Athens stadium?
“That of a final… It will be strange to see Olympiacos playing on the AEK pitch given the rivalry, but it will be a real match. I don’t think the game will be influenced by the context, the focus will only be on the pitch, it will be a party “.

What can you tell us about this Olympiacos?
“He’s fine now, it’s a moment in which he plays well with technically strong players. In attack with Pedence and El Kaabi he does well, they are important players. With this coach he has found stability. We know that Fiorentina is a great team, for me it will be a difficult match for both teams but I think Olympiacos are in a perfect moment to play this final.”

Is the defense the weakest part?
“This doesn’t mean that Olympiacos is weak… They have a lot of talent up front, when you have players who think a lot about the attacking phase maybe there are some more problems behind them, but since the change of coach there has also been more stability, everyone they run a lot on the pitch.”
