Hans-Dieter Flick was officially appointed as Barcelona’s new manager today. The German coach has signed a contract until June 2026 and was presented today via the club’s official channels. The note published by the Catalan club also contains Flick’s first statements as the new Blaugrana coach:
“This club is incredible. The hours I spend here in Barcelona are fantastic because everyone here in the club loves this club and tries to give their best to be successful. The philosophy they have is similar to mine: ball possession and really attacking football, these are the things I love. I won some titles with Bayern Munich and my hunger for titles is really great. I would like to continue on this path with Barcelona and I think that together we can achieve a lot.”
This is the official statement with which Barcelona announced Flick as their new coach: “Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement for the German to become the coach of the men’s first team until 30 June 2026. The new coach has signed a contract at the headquarters of the Club accompanied by the president Joan Laporta, the first vice president responsible for the sports area, Rafa Yuste and the sports director of the Club, Anderson Luís de Souza, Deco”.
