Tottenham, Werner will remain on loan from Leipzig: the right to buy has been discussed again

Decisive steps forward for the permanence of Timo Werner at Tottenham. In the last few hours there has been talk of the relationship between Spurs and Leipzig to deal with the German striker. The London club did not want to exercise the option to buy the player which was set at 20 million euros but did not want to give up on him. For this reason the parties have updated themselves and today they achieved the objective of prolonging the 28-year-old’s experience in the English capital.

According to reports Sky Sports De, Werner will remain on loan for another year in the team coached by Postecoglou who will cover the former Chelsea player’s salary for this year too. Furthermore, both companies have reached an agreement which provides for the inclusion of a lower redemption right than the previous one, around 15 million euros. According to the broadcaster, the signatures confirming the agreement reached have also arrived.

Werner arrived in the Premier League in the winter negotiation window and with the Tottenham shirt he made 14 appearances in the league and FA Cup, scoring two goals. However, the striker has had to stay on the sidelines for the last five games due to a thigh problem.
