From D’Angelo’s brace to Altinier’s. All the precedents of the Serie C semi-finals

Here we are. The final sprint towards the last step towards Serie B has begun. Only four teams remain in the running (Avellino, Benevento, Carrarese and Vicenza), called upon from this evening to give everything in view of next June 9th when the Lega Pro will celebrate the fourth and final promotion to the second division after Cesena, Juve Stabia and Mantova . Avellino-Vicenza And Carrarese-Benevento are the two challenges scheduled this evening: duels that bring with them some precedents from previous years. In Serie C, but not only.

AVELLINO-VICENZA
There are 21 precedents in all competitions between Avellino And Vicenzawith a balance of seven victories from Irpinia, 9 from Veneto and 5 draws (25 goals from Wolves and 29 of Lane Rossi). As regards the matches played at ‘Partenio’, however, it is the hosts who have the traditional favors with 7 victories and 4 defeats (no draws). The last precedent in Campania dates back to 25 February 2017 (Serie B) with 3-1 for Avellino thanks to a brace from Angelo D’Angelo and a goal from Matteo Ardemagni, compared to the Venetian seal from Nicola Bellomo. The last success of the red and whites away, however, dates back to the previous season in the cadetteria with a resounding 4-1 resulting from goals from Gatto, Galano, Biraschi and Giacomelli to make up for that of Trotta for the green and whites.

CARRARESE-BENEVENTO
There are just 4 precedents between these two teams and all in Serie B. The balance sheet sees two victories by Beneventoone of the Carrarese and a draw. As regards the matches played on the green rectangle of the ‘Stadio dei Marmi’, however, there is total balance with one victory each. The first, chronologically speaking, is the Tuscan one on 8 January 2006 for the Serie C2 championship with the 1-0 scored by Massimiliano Bongiorni, while the Sannite victory in the archive is that of 30 September 2012 for the 5th day of the championship of Lega Pro Prima Division thanks to a 3-0 result of Altinier’s brace and Mancosu’s goal.
