Sharp slowdown in the renewal of Sergi Roberto. The Barcelona winger’s contract will expire next month and it seemed that in recent weeks there had been some progress towards a renewal for next season but the dismissal of Xavi and the consequent arrival of Hansi Flick, whose salary will be announced in the tomorrow, plans could change. In fact, the Spanish coach was his main supporter while now the situation could be pending.
No contact since May
According to what the online edition of Sport, sources on both sides underline that for the moment the situation is on standby. Weeks ago, Barcelona promised to immediately send the documentation to formalize the agreement with the meeting between the winger’s agent and Deco which had been satisfactory. Since the beginning of May, however, there has been no contact or meeting with the situation which would have reached a stalemate.
More offers from Spanish clubs
Sergi Roberto, since receiving the renewal offer from Barcelona, had set aside the offers that had arrived from other Spanish clubs given that his priority was to remain in the Blaugrana. Who knows, maybe other leads might come back into focus now, waiting for the renewal situation to be unblocked.
