The farewell of Adam Ounas at Lille it seemed inevitable and it practically became official a few hours ago. Repeated injuries and the recent “relegation” to the reserve team had caused the Algerian winger to slip quite a bit behind Paulo Fonseca’s hierarchy; thus, the former Cagliari and Napoli player wanted to send one last message to the fans before the club’s announcement.
Having arrived in 2022 and with his contract expiring on June 30, Ounas – who had clarified a few days ago his intention to leave at the end of this season – wrote a simple “Thank you for everything” in a story on Instagram. The Algerian international will now look for new opportunities after a season in which he made 22 appearances in all competitions.
