The Milanese benches change: Piovani towards Inter, Contini is there for Milan

After Juventus, who relied on Max Canzi, other benches in the Women’s Serie A are also destined to change owners during this summer starting with the two Milanese teams.

In fact, the adventure of Inter has come to an end at Inter Rita Guarino which began in 2021 and led the Nerazzurri to three consecutive fifth places, missing the step forward that many expected with the arrival of the multi-title (4 Scudetti, 1 Italian Cup, 2 Italian Super Cups with Juventus) coach. For her now there will be the ambitious project of Genoa in Serie B, while at the helm of Inter that will come Gianpiero Piovani returning from six positive years, with the exception of last season, at Sassuolo and now ready for the big leap into a big league.

If on the Nerazzurri side of the canal you bet on a big name in women’s football, on the Rossoneri side after the parenthesis Davide Corticoach promoted by Primavera in place of Maurizio Ganz during this championship, a newcomer to women’s football like Matteo Contini. The former defender of Parma, Napoli and Bari (among others), is fresh from his experience in Serie D with Desenzano which followed those on the benches of Pergolettese, Giana Erminio and Carpi always between the third and fourth series. A choice which, with the necessary differences, recalls those of the national team with Andrea Soncin and precisely that of Juventus.

And Sassuolo? The black and green club has not yet chosen who to replace the now departing Piovani. There was a thought for Antonio Cincotta, formerly of Fiorentina and Sampdoria, but it was not successful. The research in Emilian territory therefore continues.
