Paolo Condò: “Guardiola’s horizon and Haaland’s regret: it’s not Ballon d’Or worthy”

Paolo Condò on the pages of The Republic spoke ahead of the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United, shifting attention to Guardiola’s future. Pep remains until 2025 but in his speeches the tiredness of living in Manchester resurfaces and it will also be necessary to understand the strength of the motivations after winning the fourth consecutive Premier League: “Jürgen Klopp’s farewell to the Premier League, the best of his rivals of these years, leaves him bewildered and displeased: as only happens to those who are truly great, Guardiola longs for very tough competition because it is from that that he draws the incentive to improve.”

Condò also spoke about the regrets of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has 27 goals, but this year he is not a Ballon d’Or candidate: “In the Champions League he stopped in the quarter-finals without making an impact against Real Madrid, and his Norway did not qualify for the European Championship. Norway did not never qualifies for anything.”
