On the day of Alex Sandro’s farewell, Juventus closed with a victory: 2-0 against Monza

Juventus’ season ends with a victory. Paolo Montero’s Bianconeri beat Monza 2-0 thanks to goals from Chiesa and Alex Sandro, the latter making his farewell appearance in the Bianconeri shirt.

The choices of the technicians
Paolo Montero deploys Milik at the center of the attack with Chiesa on one side and Yildiz on the other in the trident. In midfield there is Fagioli together with Alcaraz with Weah on the right and Iling Jr on the left. Perin is in goal in his last match for Juventus with Danilo, Rugani and Alex Sandro making up the defensive trio. Raffaele Palladino responds with Sorrentino between the posts while in defense there is room for D’Ambrosio, Izzo and Pablo Marì. In midfield with Gagliardini there is Pessina while Brindelli and Pereira are the wingers. Mota Carvalho plays in attack with Colpani and Carboni behind him.

One-two black and white
Palladino’s team started very strongly with D’Ambrosio’s header blocked by Perin. Izzo is on the rebound at the far post but is unable to break through. The Juventus response lies in a ball-and-chain run by Fagioli who shoots from the edge of the area, chipping the crossbar. The pace drops with Montero’s team who tries to restart quickly with Chiesa but the attacker kicks at an opponent. The very chance came in the 24th minute with Yildiz appearing in front of Sorrentino, going around him and then looking for a touch on goal but Izzo saved everything on the line. The Juventus advantage comes with Chiesa receiving from Milik, overtaking D’Ambrosio with good acceleration and overcoming Sorrentino with a close-range shot. The second goal came a minute later with Alex Sandro who scored on his farewell day against Juventus. Fagioli’s corner at the near post where the Brazilian is ahead of Mota Carvalho and beats Sorrentino.

Catwalk for Alex Sandro
The second half opens with an opportunity for Monza with Birindelli who shoots towards goal from a good position but Pinsoglio, who came on in place of Perin, is reactive and blocks. On the reversal in front it is Chiesa who, triggered by Yildiz, finishes towards the goal but the ball caresses the crossbar and ends up at the bottom. In the quarter of an hour, Fagioli’s invention triggers Chiesa inside the area but Sorrentino comes out and makes a great intervention saving his goal. At the end Montero gives a standing ovation to Alex Sandro, his last in black and white, fielding the debutant Djalò in his place. However, the Brianza team still tries, with a header from Djuric saved very well again by Pinsoglio who takes the applause from the Stadium. In injury time there was time for the Juventus third woodblock with Miretti but the midfielder had previously recovered the ball from Izzo irregularly. At the last moment Weah brings down Mota Carvalho in the area but first Pessina recovers the ball with his hand making the review in vain.
