Bayern Munich, 12 million to Burnley to free Kompany: total agreement, signature missing

Will be Vincent Kompany, in all likelihood, to take Thomas Tuchel’s place on the Bayern Munich bench. Negotiations between the German club and Burnley officially began a few days ago to release the former Belgian defender, who has a contract until 2028 with the English. Kompany, therefore, could only arrive in Germany upon payment of a substantial clause and today Sky Sports UK reveals the amount of the same: over 10 million euros.

Thirty-eight years old, he has managed Burnley since the summer of 2022: they achieved promotion to the Premier League but were immediately relegated, finishing second from bottom in the 2023/24 Premier League. Bayern’s choice would have fallen on him also for linguistic reasons: as a Belgian and former Hamburg player he knows German well. After the many rejections received, surprisingly, the Bavarians are ready to start again from Kompany, who should sign a contract until 30 June 2027.
