Massimo Brambillatechnician of Juventus Next Genspoke on the eve of the return match of the second round of the Serie C playoffs against Carrarese. A match that will see the two teams start again from the 1-1 result of the first leg.
“Tuesday’s match was played well – we read above Bianconeranews – with the boys we focused on the fact that compared to the championship match played in Carrara, where we had difficulty especially in the initial phase of the match, we faced our opponents with personality. We told ourselves that we have grown a lot, we have improved, our focus has been on these issues. Carrarese is a strong team, but the other evening we played on equal terms, imposing our game and we must be aware of this aspect. As for the interpretation that Carrarese will give to the challenge, we shouldn’t care too much. We know that we will have to go to Tuscany with the aim of winning the match to go through. It is not the first time that we will face a match with the obligation to win it to continue our journey in these playoffs: it has already happened against Pescara and against Casertana. We have to stay calm and play our football, as we know how. Logically we will need our best version to win against Carrarese, but the boys are aware of the match that awaits us.
There is great enthusiasm during this period. The boys are free in their heads, they have fun during training and in the match, in fact, they manage to bring their positivity to the pitch. They have a great desire to continue this journey because they are noticing day after day how much they have grown and how maturely they are playing these matches. I don’t perceive great tensions in view of the next appointment. They know that they will have to play another match “in or out”, but it will not be the first of this phase, therefore they will face it with determination and serenity, two of the most precious characteristics of this great group. From the beginning of the season, even when the results did not arrive, our attention has always been directed to the daily work on the field and, consequently, to the growth and improvement of these boys who, especially in the most complicated moments of this year, have always shown to have character by playing matches where the tension was high because we had to bring home points. The moment they freed themselves from these tensions, on a mental level, all their youth, all their enthusiasm emerged and I think it was precisely these elements that made the difference in our journey up to this moment. Now we don’t want to stop
