There’s a week left until the Women’s National Team returns to the field, ready to resume the qualifying journey towards EURO 2025 with the double match against Norway. On Friday 31 May (6.15 pm, live on Rai 2) the Azzurre will be on stage at the ‘Ullevaal Stadion’ in Oslo, Tuesday 4 June (6.15 pm, Rai 2) at the ‘Paolo Mazza’ in Ferrara, where Italy has not yet had never lost. After the first two matches, in which Andrea Soncin’s team beat the Netherlands and lost at Finland, the League A Group 1 ranking sees the four selections at 3 points.
It is essential to start off on the right foot: the four-day internship ended today in Tirrenia, on Sunday the players called up for the next two matches – including those of Roma and Fiorentina, playing tonight at 9.30pm (Rai 2) in the final of the Frecciarossa Italian Cup – will meet again in the Olympic Training Center to resume training.
For the 180′ against the Scandinavians the coach decided to focus on 33 players: in addition to the return of Michela Catena, Benedetta Glionna, Maria Luisa Filangeri and Annamaria Serturini, who had missed the last meeting, the main news concerns the return to the group by Matilde Pavan, who returned to play after the injury to the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee which kept her away from the pitch for almost a year. This is the second call up to the senior national team for the 19-year-old Inter midfielder, who made her debut in April 2023 in the friendly match against Colombia.
