Genoa party at Marassi: Malinovskyi and Vitinha score the 2-0 against Bologna

Genoa’s season ends with a success at Marassi against Bologna, beating one of the best teams in Serie A which is about to end 2-0, thanks to goals from Ruslan Malinovskyi in the first half and Vitinha in the second half.

Only Genoa at the start.
Right from the start of the match, Alberto Gilardino’s team gave the impression of being hungrier than the Bolognese, returning from the party on Wednesday with the open-top bus in the city together with the fans, to rejoice in qualifying for the next Champions League. In the 13th minute Malinovskyi scored, blocking the game with a diagonal low cross from Martin’s low cross which left Ravaglia no chance. The guests’ only outburst came instead with a header from Fabbian which hit the post, with Bologna ending the first half without ever having a shot on target.

Vitinha’s doubling.
In the second half it was Vitinha who sealed the result, served brilliantly by Gudmundsson: a delicious shot from the former Braga center forward who was able to celebrate his second goal in Serie A, deserved for his eager performance. In the final round of changes, with Gilardino and Thiago Motta also giving space to the third goalkeepers, before the final whistle which certified Genoa’s success.
