Antonin Barak, Fiorentina midfielder, speaks to the club’s channels after the last-gasp victory on the Cagliari pitch, which was worth the certainty of qualifying at least for the next Conference League: “Congratulations to all those who have worked towards the objectives in these 3 years, it’s an achievement important for the club, for the fans and for the players. You grow a lot in international matches.”
A last-gasp victory, desired.
“We knew that Cagliari would give it their all, relaxed and with nothing to lose. It was just us with something to lose, if we had lost points we risked playing it in the last game, we wanted to finish it today and I’m very happy with what we managed to do and the goal scored at the end. Maybe it wasn’t the perfect match but this enhances the group even more.”
You also went under.
“When we took the 2-1 lead I knew we would create something again, then Nico was very good at reopening it and in the end it went well for us. There was a bit of luck.”
Now the Conference final.
“We have had this dream from the beginning, inside there is still the regret of having lost two finals last year. This time we really want to bring a cup to Florence, everyone works and Fiorentina has been growing in recent years. We want to put this good point at the end of the season.”
