The ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ on newsstands today takes stock of the future of Ismael Bennacermidfielder of Milan who this season, between injury and the African Cup of Nations, has not been able to give the Rossoneri the same support as in previous years. The Moroccan midfielder has already indicated Saudi Arabia as a welcome destination for the second part of his career, i.e. in two years or when his contract with the Rossoneri club expires in 2027.
But for the squad, his departure already this summer cannot be ruled out: much will depend on the type of offer that will arrive from one of the top clubs in the Saudi Pro League both to the Rossoneri club and to the player himself and from Stefano Pioli’s successor at the helm of the Rossoneri.
For his part, Ismael Bennacer expressed himself like this after the latest defeat against Torino: “Me as leader since July? Of course, next year I’ll do everything I can. I’m not someone who talks a lot off the pitch, I’ll always be there on the pitch and I’ll always give everything. We’re second in the league, but for Milan it’s not enough to finish second. We want to win. Every year I try to give something more. I have been here at Milan for six years. I have to learn this role as a leader and to be an example.”
