Xavi-Laporta, meeting in the changing rooms. Meanwhile, the fans take the coach’s side

The victory against Rayo Vallecano secured Barcelona’s 2nd place. At the end of the challenge there was a first face-to-face meeting between Joan Laporta and Xavi Hernández, after the chaos of the last few days and the rumors about a possible dismissal of the coach. The two met in the Montjuïc changing rooms and, according to the Spanish press, they spoke for about 10 minutes. The issue would not be discussed, postponing any discussion until next week.

Double satisfaction for Xavi
The coach from Terrassa can be satisfied with the team’s performance (a brace from a revived Pedri) and above all with the reaction of the public, who clearly supported him: the fans chanted his name, asking him to stay, and they also showed themselves against the president’s attitude.

Xavi then declared regarding his situation and the attitude of the public: “The message is the same. If I had news to give you, I would give it to you, as always. I have a contract, the president congratulated me the other day with me for the victory. I thank the fans who have always sung for me, they support me. I have always had their respect, but I don’t like it when they boo or sing against someone from the club, it’s unpleasant.”
