Carlos Tevez will no longer be the manager of Independiente. The former Juventus striker has informed the club president that he will leave the team after the next match. Tevez – who had been hospitalized for an illness last month – had arrived at Independiente in August 2023, saving the club which was one step away from relegation.

This is the club’s official statement: “Carlos Tévez informed the President of the Club, Néstor Grinderti, representing the Board of Directors, that he has taken the decision not to continue training the team after the match we will play tomorrow against Platense. On behalf of the Institution, we want to underline the The commitment and professionalism of the outgoing technical staff, who courageously took charge of a complex sporting moment and led us towards a path of new objectives that we will try to achieve in the short term. At the same time, we want to underline the generosity of our team youth coordinator, Hugo Tocalli, who will lead the first team until the new technical staff is appointed.”
