La Repubblica headline: “The Zhang era ends, Inter in the hands of the Oaktree fund”

“The Zhang era is over, Inter in the hands of the Oaktree fund”. This is the low-cut headline on the front page of today’s edition of The Republic. The corporate situation is taking center stage at Inter with the Oaktree fund pushing to take over the shares from Suning with president Steven Zhang instead preaching tranquility and instead trying to mediate to find a solution.

Zhang’s words
Yesterday, through official channels, the Nerazzurri number one commented: “Over the months leading up to the expiry date of the financing structure with Oaktree, we have made every attempt to find an amicable solution with our partner, including offering multiple opportunities for Oaktree to obtain a full and immediate financial return. Unfortunately, our efforts thus far have been exacerbated by legal threats and a lack of meaningful involvement from Oaktree. This has been very frustrating and disappointing , but this behavior is now creating a risk situation for the Club which could seriously jeopardize its stability.”
