Daniele De Rossi he returns to speak at the press conference and does so on the eve of the match against Genoa scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Olimpico. The Giallorossi coach – among other things – also focused extensively on the next transfer market: “With the FFP everyone is influenced by the income, for now we haven’t talked about the budget, but we want to spend well and not necessarily a lot. There are many teams with interesting football without spending crazy amounts.”
Will Lukaku leave with Abraham who will be the striker of the future?
“We didn’t talk about any player, but we made evaluations on what we’ve done in past years. Maybe it’s better to valorize our players and create an asset that gives you continuity, but it’s early. We’re still missing the figure who will put the pieces in place, but not much is missing.”
Is there an asset of untouchable footballers?
“Yes, but I’m not saying them because it wouldn’t be right. Some untransferable players could leave and vice versa someone else could stay and I’ll have to make them perform at their best. Everything is still premature.”
Will you expect top players?
“Now I’m here, first Mourinho and Fonseca. Everyone has their own way of making the transfer market, but the constant is that we have always finished sixth or seventh. Something needs to change, the strong coach must impose himself to get whoever he wants and the club to buy him he must satisfy them. The first requirement will be hunger, they must feel as if it is the best thing that has ever happened to them. It has nothing to do with top players or young players, we need people who are on fire etc… Pjanic went to Juve insulted but in Rome he went to 2000. Making them hungry and making them perform on the pitch is up to me. We need hunger and that they go strong on the pitch.”
Is there an area of the pitch that needs tidying up?
“Yes, but I won’t say it. I won’t go into detail, we have a match. Yesterday I was here for 11 and a half hours, I can’t think about it too much. There will be people who will help me make the squad as strong as possible. Yes. I read that I asked, I called… it never happened. I read some names that I liked, but not more than this, both out of respect for the players and for the two games left to win.”
