Pragmatism and palmares Juve against Atalanta in search of history and the second cup

Two extremely different styles will compete in this evening’s Italian Cup final. Atalanta-Juventus takes place in Rome and the last act at the Olimpico will see two opposite game proposals face each other, both in the development phase of the game and when the defensive phase has to be done. The sometimes extreme pragmatism of Massimiliano Allegri, with a heavy palmares, against the history written without the need for titles by Gian Piero Gasperini, who will be remembered for life in Bergamo.

Even without the need to cement everything with a title, as he himself recalled in the press conference the day before. Of course, however, writing one’s name in such a limited list as that of those who have won something at the helm of Atalanta, whether it was a Serie B or C championship, is tempting. Also because, to be honest, only Paolo Tabanelli appears in that list, coach of the Dea in 1963, winning… the Italian Cup. Is that understood?

On the other hand, however, there is a Juventus team which, despite being injured and in a deep crisis of results in the league for months, has a completely different list of successes and the habit of putting cups or championships on the bulletin board. Allegri alone, considering exclusively the titles won at the helm of Juventus, is at 11 (5 Scudetti, 4 Italian Cups and 2 Super Cups). Of course, it is also true that since he returned to Turin he has not yet won anything, considering that the expiry date on his adventure as coach of the Old Lady may not be that distant, the opportunity is looking rather tempting for him too. At least for a personal revenge.
