Agresti comments: “Whoever thought that the Dea phenomenon was going away must think again”

This is the comment made by Stefano Agresti on the pages of La Gazzetta dello Sport about them two Europa League semi-finals played yesterday: “We dreamed of having already won this blessed Europa League that we never brought home. It happened when Atalanta was flying above Marseille with the security of the giants Roma were leading by two goals against the unbeatable Bayer. Instead, nothing, a wrong exit and a carom shut down Roma and canceled the feat. The cup is not ours yet. It will be Atalanta’s turn to try to catch it. Dispelling the curse of the Europa League which we have only touched on a couple of times since it existed in 2009, with Conte’s Inter and Mourinho’s Roma. We have faith that the Bergamo players can succeed because nothing is forbidden to Gasperini, to his club, to these players who are both possessed and lucid, aggressive and orderly, offensive and balanced.”

And again about Atalanta: “Whoever thought that these clubs had a limit, whoever believed that sooner or later the Dea phenomenon would deflate as usually happens to clubs from small towns that reach the top, must think again: Atalanta doesn’t stop, the Atalanta is always bigger. The Nerazzurri will play two finals in eight days. A wonderful imaginary bridge will be built between Rome and Dublin, full of hopes, but also of facts, victories, goals.”
