Udinese, Cannavaro slows down “his” Napoli and keeps hope alive: now three direct clashes

A point that keeps hope alive. Udinese comes out of the home match against Napoli with a good draw. Last night at the Bluenergy Stadium, the Friulian Bianconeri held back Francesco Calzona’s Napoli with a goal scored after time by Success. The fight for survival continues unabated with Fabio Cannavaro’s team trying to keep their noses moving forward while awaiting the last three championship matches which appear decisive but at the same time very, very delicate.

Twist of fate
It goes without saying how much this match was worth for the home team’s coach. And by a twist of fate, he wanted the paths of Fabio Cannavaro and Napoli to cross at a decisive moment in his team’s championship. After the defeat in the 18 minutes plus injury time of the match against Roma, the coach and former 2006 world champion captain brought home two important draws against Bologna at the “Dall’Ara” and against the Azzurri within friendly walls, maintaining the third last place but closing the gap to two points from the tandem formed by Empoli and Frosinone.

Three clashes of salvation
And these last two teams will be Udinese’s next opponents in the last three championship matches, in a sort of triangular match that will establish who will have to say goodbye to the Serie A championship. After the draw between the Tuscans and the Ciociaria on the last day, now it will be the turn of the Bianconeri who will first take the field against Davide Nicola’s team and then against Di Francesco’s. But first, another direct clash at the Via del Mare in Lecce next Monday at 6.30pm. Fabio Cannavaro’s road to salvation is difficult but not impossible.
