Lo Monaco and Serie C: “You have the wages of ordinary soldiers but the obligations of a general”

TMW

In his speech to TuttoMercatoWeb.com dedicated to the topic of the hypothesis of a new government agency that controls the world of football in place of Covisoc, the director of the Novara, Pietro Lo Monacoobviously also focused his attention on Serie C:

Normally it will always be the one with the most problems. In Serie C I always say you have the wages of ordinary soldiers but the obligations of a general. This confirms the quirkiness of our system, it is difficult to maintain certain obligations without some type of income. All expenses are covered and it is normal for someone to struggle. And if in A and B they are relatively simple controls, in C there are 60 teams. It seems to me that the Government’s initiative is out of place.

I don’t want it to be a game… Strange. A strange game of politics to enter the football system with united feet. Even with the problems, football has moved forward… Perhaps it needs to give itself other internal rules to regulate costs in a bed of serenity. But football itself must do it, certainly not politics.”
