Giancarlo Abetepresident of KJVwho spoke on the sidelines of the Adicosp football Grand Gala, spoke to the microphones of TMW on the topic of the day, namely the proposal by Minister Abodi for the creation of an Agency for the economic and financial supervision of professional sports clubs: “There is a statement from the FIGC after the meeting we had between all the components. On the one hand we express our opposition to the creation of the Agency, on the other we are naturally open to discussion and in-depth analysis of the problems while respecting the autonomy of sport which remains an important safeguard within our sports policies”.
What season was it for the KJV?
“Within the LND there is an innovative situation because Decree 36 has been operational since 1 July 2023. This has led to 40 thousand contracts filed, self-employment contracts. The problem that arises is not the principles underlying the reform , which are acceptable, but the effects. We are strongly concerned like the professional leagues that this reform will lead to a decrease in investments in the youth sectors and this could have very critical effects for the world of Italian football.”
What does the KJV still need to improve?
“There is a need to provide more services in light of the reform of the sports system, which requires new tasks and as such a different level of training compared to the past. We have two figures, those of sports workers and those of volunteers. We must find a balance between those who carry out these activities with interesting economic income and legitimize a work position, and those who continue to volunteer in most of the lower categories”.
During the Federal Council there was an opening on the part of the Minister. What prospects might there be?
“We will have a Federal Council on the 14th, today there was a meeting of the presidents and components. There is a desire to delve into the problems, we believe that there are many critical issues, especially at the moment in which we are, and at the same time we have the duty, but also the desire to protect the autonomy of sport as a fundamental safeguard for the entire sports system, as also said by Malagò”.
