Monza, Pessina: “Played with courage. We can aim high, we’re missing the last step”

The Monza midfielder Matteo Pessina spoke to the microphones of DAZN after the 2-2 home draw against Lazio.

You tried until the end, but the victory you’ve been missing for a while hasn’t arrived.
“It hasn’t arrived, we’re picking up few points but it’s part of our growth. We played with courage against a great team, the points will come.”

What are you missing?
“We just need to believe in it a little more. We can do everything, it’s a mental step that we have to take. We know that we can aim higher, perhaps some still don’t think they can aim for certain goals.”

What does Monza still have to prove this season?
“We have a lot of motivation, we want to reach 48 points and score 100 in the first two seasons in Serie A. We’ve been safe for a few days, we want to take this extra step and we will.”

Do you want to beat your goalscoring record?
“Hopefully. I’m happy when the team plays well and wins, I don’t care much about goals.”
