…with Daniele Faggiano –

Parma returns to Serie A. Smile rediscovered. “Everyone knows how attached I am to the club, the team and the city,” former Gialloblu sporting director Daniele Faggiano tells TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

It was an exhilarating season.
“I’m happy, when there were a few more draws I tried to cheer everyone up. Pecchia was the additional weapon, the club did well to reconfirm him after the year of adjustment. I’m happy for Parma and for the coach, for the staff, Porta, Coppola and Troianiello who were with me in Siena and for Pederzoli who I brought to Parma as a scout.”

In Serie A we will need to confirm ourselves.
“In the meantime, Parma must think about keeping first place. Then we will build for the future and I think the President is already working to try to give the coach an ambitious team.”

In B Catanzaro shines.
“I’m happy for Vivarini: together with the president he has assembled an important team and I see great cohesion in the group. Iemmello, Vandeputte, Fulignati who I picked up as a child and one of the first arguments with Zamparini was precisely because I wanted him to play, they are all elements of great value.”

Direct promotion: Como or Venezia?
“Antonelli and Vanoli have built something important, they deserve Serie A directly or with the playoffs. They have always been on point. It’s a competitive team. Unfortunately only two go to Serie A. Together with Palermo, Como has made expensive purchases and things, in the case of the Lombards, are going very well. The choice to change coach was courageous given that the moment was positive and today the team is doing extraordinary things.”

Palermo is struggling…
“I hope he plays well in the playoffs. And may Brunori, my pupil, score many goals. Insigne has been held back a bit by injuries but can make an important contribution. And in January a player like Ranocchia was signed who has great qualities and was, like Insigne, slowed down by injuries. However, Palermo has everything to get back on its feet.”

Meanwhile, his ex Trapani is back among the professionals.
“The square deserved it. I wish Trapani all the best, there are people who live from football. Trapani is my second thing, maybe the first. I’m happy and I hope they continue to move up the category.”

Waltz coaches: will Milan change?
“There has been a market for coaches since February and March. I’m sorry that Pioli has been engulfed in controversy. However, Milan as a team have some problems and certainly not the fault of Pioli, who was a gentleman in not shaking his fists when everyone contested him. It’s not a team that could play on multiple fronts. Then if two or three players drop the results don’t arrive.”

You took Scamacca from Genoa. Today he shines at Atalanta. Will the keys to Italy’s attack go to him? Immobile is no longer very young.
“I’ll make a premise: Spalletti is an advantage for any team. He is a worker and a real man. What he says he means and does. And the team perceives it immediately. Ciro must be calm: he is getting older but he is still a professional, he is strong and will return to high levels. I don’t know if at Lazio or somewhere else. Scamacca is my worry: I signed him from Genoa when he came from Ascoli and everyone called me crazy. Then someone speaks because he has to speak and sees his tattoos. But already at Genoa he was a complete striker. He is a decent boy who wants to work. I was sent away after he scored a brace in an Italian Cup derby. In the summer several teams wanted him and he went to Atalanta. In Genoa I wanted to keep him but someone above me didn’t want to.”

She brought Dragusin to Sampdoria. He devoted himself to Genoa and today he is at Tottenham.
“I had brought it with the enhancement but there were too many of us deciding and so it was returned to the sender. At Genoa he demonstrated his value and the others noticed it too. Even though I would have preferred to see him again in Italy, I am happy that he plays in an important team.”

Among Samp’s protagonists is De Luca.
“He is doing very well and I was sure of it. I’m sorry that the year I was at Sampdoria he wasn’t treated very well, perhaps because I brought him along.”

Brunori, Cheddira, Dragusin, De Luca, Scamacca… Director, ready to get back on track and discover new talents?
“If they call me, yes (he smiles, ed.). I certainly miss the locker room and the team. I watch matches, I update myself. Being outside is annoying, it’s normal. I await the best opportunity with the right serenity.”
