Goodbye to Chelsea for Thiago Silva. The defender of the Brazilian national team has announced that he will say goodbye to the Londoners on 30 June, when his contract expires: “Chelsea means a lot to me. I arrived to stay only for one year and instead it was four. My children play for Chelsea, it’s a great pride to be part of this family. Literally, I hope they continue their careers here, in a club where everyone would like to be.”
Thiago Silva continues: “In my four years here I have always given everything. But, unfortunately (he becomes emotional. ed.) everything has a beginning, a middle and an end. It doesn’t mean this is definitive, I still leave the door open, I hope perhaps in the near future to be able to return, even in another role. The love I feel is indescribable, I can only say thank you.” And at 40 (he will be in September) the Brazilian centre-back could continue his adventure in the United Kingdom.
And now what future? According to some rumors coming from Brazil, the former Milan player could still remain in England. Despite the pressure from Fluminense, who would like to bring him back to his homeland next summer, Thiago Silva and his family would prefer to stay in London, also because his children are part of Chelsea’s youth sector.
