Turin and the days of remembrance: united for Grande Torino. And Robaldo is finally born

From Robaldo to Superga, all of Turin is preparing to remember the Invincibles 75 years after the tragedy. This time, however, the celebrations will begin tomorrow, match day for Ivan Juric’s boys who will host Bologna. On Friday afternoon, at Philadelphia, there will be the dedication of a flagpole to Erno Egri Erbstein: the technical director who shaped that unbeatable team will find a place in the Courtyard of Memory. In the evening, however, the commemorations will move to the stadium: during the interval of the match between Toro and Bologna the Sensounico band will sing “A day of rain”, with over 22 thousand people who have already secured their place at the Olimpico Grande Torino . For this match Buongiorno and his teammates will wear a special shirt, with the three footballers Djidji Schuurs and Gineitis who will reveal it in preview this afternoon at the JD Store in the Le Gru shopping centre.

The day of May 4th will begin at Robaldo, the future home of the youth team which is finally starting to see the light. At 10.30 the first ball will be moved on field 3 of the sports center, with the president Urbano Cairo expected to cut the ribbon with an exhibition match of the grassroots activity. About an hour later, Don Robella will give the blessing to the tomb of the fallen at the Monumental Cemetery, then the opening of the doors to the Philadelphia for the session of Juric’s boys cannot be ruled out. And in the afternoon, after the first stage of the Giro d’Italia, Superga will be colored grenade with the usual programme, from mass in the basilica to the reading of the names by Buongiorno. Despite the traffic problems, a shuttle service is guaranteed for fans from Sassi to Superga with the via Viotti club taking care of the costs.
