Sliding doors for Fermin Lopez: close to Rakow in the summer, now Barça’s strong point

Fermin López he was certainly one of the most surprising players in the Spanish championship. The young Barcelona canterano, who last season played on loan in the third series with Linares – scoring 12 goals and four assists – is one of the bets won by Xavi, who has drawn a lot from the cantera in recent years.

Fermin, the Polish press reports, could also have left Catalonia permanently: in the summer the Blaugrana had received an offer of 600,000 euros from Raków Częstochowa, but changes within the Polish club’s board of directors would have led to his exclusion of the purchase and stay of the class of 2003 in Barcelona.

All this to the joy of Xavi and the fans, because Fermin immediately stood out with great performances: 1,583 minutes in 37 games, enhanced by eight goals and one assist. His versatility allows him to play both in midfield and as a left winger, but it is his sense of goal that amazes: he has scored in important matches, such as those against Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Valencia.

A prodigious leap for a boy who in 2022 was playing in the Youth League and who then, to continue growing, dropped to the third series. If Fermín had packed his bags to play in the Ekstraklasa, he would have been the 21st Spaniard in the league.
