Bologna, Thiago Motta talks… about the future: “To remain at a high level the squad must be improved”

The Bologna coach Thiago Mottain a press conference before tomorrow’s match against Torino, also spoke about his team’s Champions League objective:

What did the managers ask you at the beginning of the season? Does this team need a lot to do well in Europe? Have you talked about it with the managers?
“We haven’t talked about it, but to maintain this level next season each squad must improve… We think about raising the level even more. But these are situations that can be seen later. Now let’s think about Torino, it’s a team with good players and a strong coach. I’m not inside to understand but from what I’ve seen since he arrived, Juric has brought consistency to his team, Ivan has helped, he wants to win every match it’s clear that the championship is competitive and difficult, but We must congratulate him for the extraordinary work he has done in these 3 years.”

Was there a particular request from the managers at the beginning of the season?
“No. The message was as always in other seasons, get to 40 points as soon as possible and then see. I honestly didn’t really agree with this, I wanted to think game by game and then see what would happen. I think it was the best thing and I thank all of Bologna and the managers for having communicated this (the concept of thinking game after game, ed.) and not what was said previously in other seasons.”

Fenucci said she works as if she has a long-term contract. Is this the best thing to do in these cases?
“I thank him for these public words of his, continuing to work, thinking about this objective, for our people and for Bologna, would be extraordinary.”
