“League decisions? I’m confused.” See De Rossi again on the eve of Roma-Bayer

Bayer Leverkusen, the Lega Serie A and the championship final. Review the video with the words of Daniele De RossiRoma coach, on the eve of the Europa League semi-final first leg.

You and Xabi Alonso new generation of coaches who are bringing something new?
“The new generation is assimilating the ideas of the past, those of Guardiola for example who in turn had taken them from the 70s. Football evolves as physicality evolves, interpretations change but in the end you always play to win. Today there is a more offensive idea, football changes but in the end it remains the same. There are interpretations and ideas that lead to different ideas, but in the end these probably derive from the football of many years ago.”

Is this Roma better suited to European football?
“It would be very serious if that were the case. We have averaged 2 points in the league since our arrival. It would be 76 points projected, at that point we would know we had qualified for the Champions League… We are not in those conditions, I don’t want to say that my team is more suited to Europe because in my opinion the path in the championship has been very positive.”

The relationship with the League? Is there a solution as a former footballer?
“I’ve done football, but not football politics. I’m a bit lost, there are people behind me who deal with it. Sometimes there are no solutions for the League, it seems strange to us not to be satisfied as an Italian team in Europe. .. A precedent can be opened, but I don’t want to make a conspiracy. It seems strange to me not to find dates when a date has been found for another match at the end of the championship, with the others already on holiday (the reference is to the recovery of Atalanta – Fiorentina which, if they reach their respective European finals, will be recovered after the championship has already concluded, ed.). Playing many days later is strange… But now I’m thinking about the pitch and improving that.”

Are the former midfielders the best coaches?
“It suits me that you say that… The midfielder is always inside the game and must know how to both attack and defend… We are always inside the game and more stimulated in the two phases, also in transmitting our thoughts to the players”.
