Dino Baggio on Parma: “Excellent work by Pecchia. Promoted on merit”

Dino Baggioformer Parma midfielder, spoke to the microphones of ParmaLive of the promotion of the Verona club. “After two years in the lower leagues in which Parma tried to climb back to Serie A, this year proved to be the good one to achieve promotion. Pecchia’s team is made up of strong players and is managed in an exemplary manner. The club is set up by very serious and professional people. On the occasion of the Cittadella-Parma match, I had the opportunity to meet, at the Tombolo sports centre, the Managing Director Roel Vaeyens and the Slo Giuseppe Squarcia of the ducal club, who gave me the book “110”. Cuori Crociati” and a personalized shirt. It is right that Parma is promoted this year because they deserve it.”

At the beginning of the season the ducal club chose to reconfirm Pecchia. Is he the right man to bring the Ducal team back to its former glory?
“So far Pecchia has done an excellent job. Once in Serie A, the will of the club must be considered, because in the top flight strategies and other aspects change. It will be necessary to evaluate how to proceed in the best way.”

You won four trophies in Parma. What sensations do you get when celebrating in the ducal city?
“Parma is a very nice, small city, so the fans are very happy to celebrate the milestone achieved by their team.”

What relationship do you have with the Parma people and the Crusader fans?
“I have excellent relationships with all of them: we see and talk to each other often. Parma Legends was created, a Crusader project designed to play charity matches and share moments with Crusader fans. In this way the ducal supporters will have the opportunity to see us again on the pitch with a few years older, recalling the good memories of the past”.

This promotion to the top flight is an extra incentive to come back more often to watch Parma matches…
“When Roel Vaeyens and Giuseppe Squarcia came to Tombolo to greet me, they invited me to watch Parma’s Serie A matches at the Tardini. Surely when I have the opportunity, I will go with my wife or my children to the ducal city to attend some top-flight matches”.

What are Dino Baggio’s future projects?
“At the moment I have no plans, I want to be free, I don’t want to have constraints. Next year, however, my children will start playing with Tombolo, the team where I started my career as a footballer. In this way it’s as if I would go back to the origins, returning home. If my children are good and someone notices them, they will be able to make choices at the moment and they have created a three-year project, the aim of which is to gradually rise to the top. Promotion, then in Excellence”.
