The words uttered yesterday by Rafael Nadal. The famous Spanish tennis player, before taking to the court in the round of 16 of the Masters1000 in Madrid against the Czech Lehecka, had criticized in a press conference the choice of the tournament organizers to have his match played in prime time (start set for 10pm ), practically at the same time as the match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
The protest by Nadal, a well-known Real fan, was obviously welcomed by many spectators, who unfortunately were forced to choose between two very important sporting events. Thus, the last match in “his” Madrid (the Majorcan lost and will retire at the end of the season) was an organizational flop: semi-empty stands and the 37-year-old himself, at a certain point, asked what the result of the match was match at the Allianz Arena, almost overshadowing his match.
