AEK Athens, manager Almeyda’s madness: hands around the throat of a security guard

Matias Almeydacoach ofAEK Athens, after the 3-2 defeat against PAOK in the Greek championship playoffs, he was involved in a brawl. The former Inter and Lazio midfielder threw himself at a security guard, wrapping his hands around his throat and ending up suffocating him. Fortunately, people managed to make the Argentine give up. As reported by the online version of Corriere della Sera, players and staff of the respective teams were also involved.

After the match he didn’t try to tone down what happened, on the contrary, he justified himself like this: “They pushed me, so I had to react. I’m a man, blood flows in my veins and in the face of certain provocations I couldn’t back down. In the end I may have made a mistake, but I don’t accept certain things.”
