Two days after the brace with which he celebrated the Scudetto with Inter, Hakan Calhanogluin an interview with Copa 90explained his transformation into a director this way: “The idea of the director came from the coach when Brozovic was injured and my first match was against Barcelona when I scored and we won 1-0 at home. From that match it was I started it all, I continued to play in that role, I feel good and I think I’ve grown a lot in that role.”
Idols in the role: “I learned from myself. Obviously I have idols, I watch players like Pirlo, but Pirlo didn’t defend like I do. So maybe for that I take inspiration from Gerrard, Lampard or Xabi Alonso. I take something from everyone. But I want to be alone myself”.
