Bayer Leverkusen unbeatable? Briegel: “It won’t be easy for Roma to win, but they can do it”

The great Hans-Peter Briegelformer coach and former defender with a past also in Italy with the shirts of Verona and Sampdoria, spoke to the microphones of TeleRadioStereo: “I always love Italy, the Italian teams are doing well in Europe. They will no longer be in the Champions League, but they are doing well in the Europa League and Conference.”

What match will Roma-Bayer Leverkusen be on Thursday? “Two weeks ago Bayer Leverkusen became champions and in the last two games they achieved two draws in the final minutes. They no longer play like they used to. Of course, Leverkusen have never lost a game and the last defeat was in Rome. It won’t be easy for Roma to win on Thursday, but they can do it.”

Can the fact of not having lost a match yet affect the players in terms of pressure? “Bayer Leverkusen has a squad of 22 good players, when two are missing there are two others who can make the difference. The other German teams this year have lost points perhaps due to absences, Leverkusen have not. In the final of German Cup “my” Kaiserslautern will play against Leverkusen, we are in Serie B but we are in the Cup final: I would like Leverkusen’s first defeat to be in the final against us, maybe you draw two and then win on penalties”.

Amazed by De Rossi’s performance on the Roma bench? “I look at the results, De Rossi’s Roma are doing very well so far. He will be the coach for next season too, he has been a flag for Roma and in my opinion this is very important.”
