Valverde reveals: “In bed with remorse for not having taken the penalty against City, I wasn’t ready”

Federico Valverde, Real Madrid midfielder, spoke at a press conference to present the first leg of the Champions League semi-final with Bayern Munich. These are his statements on his season and on the penalty not taken in the second leg of the quarter-final against Manchester City:

What assessment do you make of your season??
“I’m happy with what this year has been for me, I’m enjoying playing many minutes as a starter to the fullest. Competing for Real Madrid is the best thing a footballer can experience. I’m making the most of the positive moment that we have”.

What do you have left of the big match with Manchester City??
“I went to bed with remorse for not having shot, especially at a time when I’m good at taking penalties. But in the end we qualified, I like these moments, I like to win. It was that bitter taste, I’m there moments when you have to put your ego and pride aside and accept that you are not ready at that moment I was tired and I told the coaching staff that I was not ready to shoot same thing”.
