The Manchester City midfielder was eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals by Real Madrid, but won the European Super Cup, the Premier League and the European Championship with Spain as the absolute protagonist. In 2023-2024 he played 50 games for the English, scoring 9 goals, including 8 in the league and one in the Champions League. With the national team, however, he played 13 in friendlies, European Championships and European Championship qualifiers, scoring 3 goals.
