Rome, De Rossi: “It wasn’t the match we wanted, let’s recover our strength for Thursday”

The Roma coach Daniele De Rossi spoke to the microphones of Sky after the away match against Napoli, which ended 2-2.

It was a difficult match, but you bravely held on and equalized at the end.
“The draw shouldn’t be thrown away in Naples, but it’s not the result and the match we wanted. Napoli are very times, we should have been cleaner with the ball. A little better in the second half, but we have to do better and find strength for Thursday against a team that plays well.”

Has physical and nervous tiredness taken over?
“I don’t know. This is a squad built with not many setters and when Paredes isn’t there you can feel it. We did well even when he isn’t there, we need to do better and they are a little tired at the end of the year everyone. If we think we’re tired, we won’t do well at the end of the season.”

You need someone like N’Dicka.
“Aside from the assist, a 150 million striker marked the whole match, often managing to do so. Happy with Tammy’s goal, we have recovered two boys who had two episodes of suffering. We hope to recover Smalling and Lukaku for Thursday, we have everyone needs.”

Will they recover?
“In the next few days they will do slightly heavier training, to understand if they can be there.”

How important is the technical and character aspect?
“We kept the ball even, what counts is what we do with the ball. Mancini played a game in line with the others, we weren’t our best version and one player didn’t influence the match. The boy always plays, even when it’s not in perfect condition.”

What impressions did you have of Sanches?
“He came in because he dribbles, it was a difficult moment in the match and he was a bit unlucky on the penalty. He can give us a hand: he has almost never played 90 minutes, but he is training well and we will also rely on him in the last month and a half.”
