Jacobelli praises Barella’s behaviour: “In the wake of Ranieri and Klopp”

Xavier Jacobelli he commented on the pages of Tuttosport Nicolò Barella’s behavior during the celebrations for Inter’s 20th Scudetto: “The scene immediately went viral on the web. Milan, 23 April 2024, the night of Inter’s Second Star. Some new Italian champions appear on the balcony Among these, Dumfries, Barella and Calhanoglu. From the fans below, a rude and vulgar chant starts against Theo Hernandez, who was sent off together with Dumfries for mutual misconduct at the end of the derby. Barella takes the megaphone and waves with his arms, as if to say : Stop it! Stop the uproar and start another chorus, praising Dumfries.

The fans followed him, almost as if he were their pied piper, and the abuse directed at the AC Milan player stopped immediately. At a time when celebrating a trophy by insolenting opponents seemed to be the irritating conditioned reflex of the barbarians, Barella went against the grain, earning respect and esteem (…).

Like Ranieri who on 13 June 2023, in Bari, won Serie A with Cagliari in the 94th minute and went under the curve of the rossoblù supporters, silencing the derisive refrains about the opponents they had just defeated and inviting them, instead, to applaud them. Like Klopp who on 18 April 2024, in Bergamo, was eliminated from the Europa League at the hands of Atalanta and, after having complimented Gasperini and his players in the middle of the pitch, he showed up at the Nerazzurri’s Curva, took off his cap and applauds the Bergamo fans, who applaud him, admired by the behavior of one of the greatest coaches in the world at the very moment in which, for the last time in his career, he leaves the European scene with his Reds”.
