Nice first half at the Olimpico, but Isaksen and Swiderski miss out: Lazio-Verona 0-0 in the 45th minute

74% of ball possession and 8 shots (of which 2 on target) were not enough for Lazio to take the lead in the first half of the match against Hellas Verona. A good performance so far for Igor Tudor’s men, but Baroni’s boys are not disfiguring either. Isaksen and Swiderski had the most important chances, which were trashed. And so at half-time it was 0-0.

Back and forth
Less than four minutes and the first shot of the match arrives, from Guendouzi, who however shoots out of bounds. However, Lazio keeps control of the game, spins the ball and scores as soon as it can. Hellas Verona waits and tries to restart. He also succeeds at the start, Noslin shoots from outside the area to the near post and sends it just wide. Shortly after, Castellanos tries to make himself dangerous, but the flag goes up for offside. All good, however, on the big opportunity for Isaksen: following a corner development the Dane finds the ball on the right, opens the plate but finds the response from Montipò.

Isaksen and Swiderski waste
There isn’t a moment’s respite, you play a lot vertically both on one side and the other. Isaksen still has the best chance for Lazio, but on a deep ball from Luis Alberto he misses the control and hits the basket. Swiderski does the same thing on the other side of the pitch: a shot from Noslin, the Pole with the goal unguarded chews the conclusion and misses the target. Lazio were better, but Verona held on well and were also dangerous. Nice first halfOlympic.
