Sampdoria, Pirlo: “If we don’t go to the playoffs it will be our fault. We have to deserve them”

In his press conference on the eve of the match against Como, the Sampdoria coach, Andrea Pirloalso spoke about the playoffs and whether or not his team deserve to play them: “We have to deserve it. If we go there it’s because we deserved it, otherwise it will be our fault. We have this desire, we have always remained focused on This”.

Are you already working towards the playoffs?
“We are working to finish these four matches in the best possible way. The work was planned to arrive in this period with an extra gear. Now this is the time to push.”

There are several criticisms against him on social media.
“It’s normal, if you win you’re good, if you lose you’re not. There are 60 million coaches, not everyone can do it. When you’re at the stadium or in front of the TV it’s easy to talk, then you have to be here every day and work. Criticism has never influenced me because I continue to work with my head.”

A point in Spezia after a match not played well, how much can it help for confidence?
“When you bring home a positive result from a difficult pitch it’s always important. We played a game of sacrifice, we took risks a few times but when you bring home a point that perhaps wasn’t deserved it gives you a bit of confidence. We analyzed the match , but now we move forward because the past doesn’t count.”
